Part 1: Video Brief : (328 words)

In the third assignment, I would like to choose the main content of my video which is about Augmented Reality and Digital Devices. To be more specific, the topic is about Augmented Reality, engaging to Artificial Intelligence and probably could be Digital Devices in the beauty industry (Digital beauty functions and beauty retailers). For the reasons why I make this video in the first place since at first, I want to update myself about the new trends of this industry. Secondly, I would like to share the beneficial information to my friends or whoever watches the video. Subsequently, Artificial Intelligence or Augmented Reality is the topic I didn’t think that I am interested in so it seems like my motive to find out and get to know about these stuffs clearer. Finally, it is also new things that are helpful for me if I have a chance to use or experience the products in the future. Moving to the target, I think that this video is suitable to anyone who are media or internet users as long as they are beauty junkies or interested in to know, no exception for ages and genders. In my own view, I reckon that this topic is kind of fun to know since not many people realize that AI/AR is not only for games, robotics, science but also for beauty retailer and beauty technology applications. There are total 5 sources are used in the video, including 2 academic sources, 1 video, 1 new and 1 forum. When it comes to the way I communicate to the viewers regard to the topic, i think about expository and analytical as the main ways and it could be a bit argumentative to highlight the information. Overall, I think the video not only share the knowledge to the audiences but also broaden my horizon as well. I hope that we all know and have good experiences together thanks to the convenience of technology age these days. 

Part 2: Reflection on the creative process:

As I mentioned on the previous part, I made the decision for the topic of my video this time which is associated to beauty since I think that it is fun and interesting to combine my hobby with a technology topic as Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality. Then, it could motivate me more to do the research and found out how technology can engage to beauty industry. Besides, when it comes to the messages or meanings which I convey in my video, I would like to share that not just in games, science, AI/AR technology also can contribute to the beauty industry on digital platform and business too. The two topics which no one thought it relates to each other in the past.

To finish the video as I expected, I have been a process, starting from reading, finding 5 main sources which are 2 academic, 1 news, 1 from forum and 1 video. At this step, it took me 3 days after planning the topic of the video and writing the script, not much difficult to find the academic sources and an online article but for the video and a forum post, it took me for a while since the content is pretty personal and it is not common to find a post which followed exactly to the topic of this video. Next, I moved to the step that filming myself, it is not the first time but I have still felt shy in front of the camera so I had to filmed again many times for 2 days to satisfy to the angles of my face or the way I talked in the clip. It means I want it natural as much as possible. Then, I reached to the process of collecting the images and music sound which are under the license to use for the video. As you would see soon, I used quite many images relating to the content and recording my voice with the script as the audio to illustrate the information easier. Turning to the music sound, I have done this part quicker than I thought thanks to the free music on Ben sound website which I also put the link under the description box for the copy right. Finally, i had to edit and combine all the short scenes together on Adobe Premiere Pro, I felt like this time I can do it better than the 2 last time since I know some basic functions of the application now but I am still not confident that I am good at this step, so I just tried my best to edit it in my ability.

To sum up, thanks to this assignment that broadening my horizon better about technology knowledge, I am not really interested in this topic but now I know how to turn the thing is not my cup of tea into the motivation and work for it.

#ALM102DC Assignment 2- Artificial Intelligence chit chat 💭

Video Brief:

For the brief of this video, I pick the topic which is Artificial Intelligence or we could be known it as AI. The reason why I chose this topic due to the fact that I am big fan of social medias, it does mean that Artificial Intelligence could play a vital role in the media platform so it is not only necessary for me to know but also beneficial for other media users. Therefore, when it comes to the goal of this video, I argue that it would be good enough about summarizing some basic facts, relating to Artificial Intelligence in our every life such as Social Media, streaming music website – Spotify. Besides, for the intended viewers for the video, my audience target would be young people who are addicted to phone in order to read the news, relaxing or working. Furthermore, to get the definition of AI, I refer an academic source by Joost N. Kok which gave me more information to understand how it works in media platforms or what AI really is. Next, moving to the objective of the video, there are 2 way I approached to the topic which are expository and a bit analytical in order to explain and break down the topic into parts.

Strategies & Challenges:

Subsequently, about my strategies relating, firstly I had to have a look on the sample videos from old students on Youtube to get more experience for my work. Then, I started to search for the academic study of Artificial Intelligence and some other articles to catch up with the latest AI trend which is applied in Spotify as an example. Next, picking the angles of me and recording myself or screen-filming. Moreover, I also use 2 photos and 1 song for the ending of my video which are licensed under a creative common license to make the video less boring, rather than just I talk during whole of the video.

However, I also had to face to a challenge which is shooting many times until I feel satisfied with how i look in the video and also making sure that my eyes always look at the camera most of the time during I communicate to the audiences since this way would create better relationships between the viewers and the vloggers. Besides, i learn more about the AI which I wouldn’t be interested in this topic much before but it is actually more interesting than I thought that making things funnier and easier to use. Finally, one more time I found difficult in the exporting step again due to the fact that somehow when I watched the exported video, some scenes are disappeared so I need to export it more than 10 times then it has finished after i changed into the H264 format with the preset is Youtube 720p HD.

#ALM102DC SELF CHIT CHAT✨ :) (CHECK IT OUT👇🏻)

In my first video which is around 2-3 minutes, I introduce myself including my name, nationality, occupation, education and hobbies due to the fact that they are all the basic information to make people get to know me better. Moreover, this video content is literally same as a short chit chat so I just want to make it real as possible by sharing in details about my diploma degree. Then, I change the topic to talk about my hobbies such as shopping, fashion, doing make-up and having yummy foods as an essential fact which people normally show when they want to introduce themselves.

To be honest, this video process took me 2 days to finish. I start to write the script like what would I say or plan for the concept, clothing. Last but not least, I had to pronounce and talk in a natural way as much as I can to make my video shoot closer to the viewers. Since I have a round face, I am quite picky to choose the angle I think it makes me look not too bad in my first video. Therefore, as you guys could be seen, the shot size of my video mostly Medium Closeup with the contribution of the composition for Filmmakers which is called the rule of thirds in order to make the viewers do not focus too much on my round face. Likewise, I also practice myself in front of the camera lens many times as I sometimes forgot my script or suddenly felt shy to talk by myself which made me look to the camera screen instead. Thus, I fixed this problem by recording my videos up to nearly 50 times to complete the shoot like exactly how I expect.

Thanks to this assessment that I could know a new thing which is editing the videos via Premier Pro function. Normally, I just have edited my photos on the mobile simple applications, comparing to when I have started to use the Premiere Pro in the first time that I found out it was difficult than I thought. To be more specific, after finishing the recording in 3 hours, the time I used to get my editing done probably could be approximately 5 more hours. Therefore, this experience definitely opens my mind then it would beneficial for my study in the near future because I am still up to this skill again if my main major is advertising that what I reckon. Finally, one more challenge I have been facing which is exporting the video properly. In fact, I clicked to the export button at first but it was not successful since selecting Export just simply exports the sequence right from that window so I had to choose the Queue instead then keep pressing the green play button at the top to start the export via Adobe Media Encoder. It was quite hard for me at first but I still have done it anyways so I bet this is also an interesting knowledge I should not forget in my study.

Digital media in education

Hi, welcome back to my blog, I am Kristie and for my blog today, I show you guys some information which relates to the technology and education aspect as well as introduce my new podcast. The content of this podcast including the practical unit theory and examples to proof the point. To be more specific, there are four parts when it comes to the outline of my podcast. Firstly, indicating the brief as well as comparing the difference between the traditional education and the new trend in education which is using digital medias these days. Secondly, showing the explanation and giving examples for the key terms. Finally, it would be a part to summarize for the podcast.

To inform my podcast, I have read some researches which consist academic sources, journals, online articles to get enough information that relate to both sides of applying digital media in education such as plus points and limitations of this phenomenon. Besides, this knowledge can help me know more about the benefits and downsides of the increasing reliance on digital media not only inside the classroom but also outside the school campus. Therefore, after highlighting & defining the key meanings of unit concepts, I am possible to suggest some examples in order to understand what the podcast means easier. 

Moving to the factors which I used for my podcast, the music plays a vital role to get more attentions from the listeners. It does mean that the vibe of the podcast would not be up and down due to the fact that it could cause the boring easily when people only listen the reader convey all the information without any sounds to create the salient feature in my podcast. Thus, the soundtracks I chose here is “Stock ringtone ” and “Poker face ”, one for the opening and one to end the podcast. In details, these soundtracks are absolutely made sure that they would be under the licenses to copyright if I cannot create my own sounds. That why I chose the musical intro and outro with an appropriate Creative Commons license. Similarly, the photo, which I used for the podcast, is also allowed to download with the copyright license.

For doing this workshop, I have already been some challenges to finish it. The first thing would be finding the academic articles which contain all the information connecting to every aspect I mentioned in the podcast. Due to the fact that each source I read that show own different opinions from the authors so it made me confused to choose the right definitions for the meaning of the theory. Moreover, the subsequent challenge for me would be that I had to practice to pronounce the words, control my voice speech with the content of the podcast to make sure the time is enough 5 minutes. Therefore, it took me around 1 hour to record it and 2 more hours to edit the podcast to be more interesting with the soundtracks and background photo. Then, I posted it on podcast, checking it whether the podcast works or not and after all that stages are done, I embed the link here in this blog to share with you. I hope this podcast could help you guys get more the knowledge about the pros and cons of using digital media in education. Thank you for pay a visit for it.

Week 8 – Part 2 Client Scenario Response Draft Creative Brief #ALA102DC

1.Background:

Odd Pears was founded by Brock Sykes. Odd Pears isn’t just an old sock company. They spend days figuring out new ways to stick it to the man and celebrate odd socks, life, colour, creativity and design, all through the invention of the brand. They decided pretty early on that Odd Pears will also be a brand of substance and character, not just another pretty face on the fashion scene. In the fashion industry, socks play a vital role as it could be seen as a accessory to highlight the outfit or make the style more unique. Therefore, to make customers pay attention to the products of Odd Pears, they have to make sure these socks are not only to be on trend but also require the good functions to wear. Besides, in this COVID-19 time is more difficult to release the new collection of socks, so they need to have a research about the market clearer. For instance, in this Coronavirus time, the health needs to be protected most, that why the new fall-winter Odd Pears shocks are released, with the material can keep warm enough for people but still are not out of style. Additionally, “The seducer” (Sparkol, 2015) could be choose as a brand archetype of Odd Pears since using this image can inspire customers easier to get the socks.

2. Objectives:

The objective i choose for this brief is inspiring the “self-loving ” affection which means showing the important of fashion these days and some good functions of wearing socks. For example, wearing Odd Pears socks can keep us warm enough, no worry about foot smell, more confident to walk but still look trendy.

3. Target Audience:

Basing on a research points out that the average of money which Australians spent on Fashion and Personal care were $20.4 billion and 13.4 billion respectively in 2016. It means that the products should be focused on advertising to young people with ages from 20-40. To be more obvious, Fashionistas / Fashion Blog who are able to inspire people buy this type of accessories with a wide range of styles or making the advertising campaign to travel bloggers who often go for journeys and they make a lot of blogs then they can help the brand introduce the good functions of products easier

Part 2:

I pick the third headline ‘Turn off your “ringtone” or turn on “Wee Woo”? Keep driving!’ since it is a bit witty but still aware people how important of safe driving is. We can see that “ringtone” is represented for Texts and “Wee Woo” is the sound of ambulance. Therefore, it could be used as hints but easy to understand the depth of message.

Invisible with pastel color socks means they are made by silky material with light color to highlight for the bright color of shoes (More choices for more Fashion styles)

Lace ankle socks which relate to lingerie accessories for women.

Graphic and neon color socks which is designed for who kids or people who follow Color-Block style (an interesting style requires the ability which mix and match color in the fashionable way)

Assignment 2 – Making social media

Hi everyone, this blog will indicate and share about my experience on social medias and many aspects, problems relating to my own online identity as well as how I manage and communicate with people on social networks. In fact, the media platforms which I frequently use most, is Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook. Furthermore, I have also been using Twitter (here) currently which supports for my study (here). There are still some similarities amongst the social medias which I have been using. The first basic similarity could be mentioned that is all of these social medias can allow users add or follow other accounts. to communicate and see the posts of each other. Another similarity is also one of the main things to tell in this blog which has a lot of aspects to analyse or evaluate, is users can create their own online identities on all these social networks such as choosing an avatar, an icon-sized graphic photo, making their bio to let people get know them more, etc… Subsequently, moving to how I frequently make my online identity becomes unique on specific platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook & Twitter. In brief, these media systems are pretty same each other that they require my personal information. For example, the information includes my birthday, gender, relationship and some other things regard to my interests. Besides, I also could start to create my username, nickname and a high security password for my own media profile. After that, my favorite part is choosing the avatar and wallpaper photos for my pages since these photos would be the first impression when people pay a visit to your profile. It could be explained that an attractive avatar or wallpaper will help other users know more about your personalities, styles. Then they would be able to add or follow if they find the page is interested them. Moreover, there is also a new feature which I am possible to set up for my profile on Facebook as well. It is called music background which means I am allowed to pick any songs so as to make my page lively and more fascinating. In addition, this is the way I often make and maintain relationships on social medias. Firstly, I find my friends and families’ accounts to add then the newsfeed will show me more accounts which have mutual friends to follow. To be honest, in my own experience of making some new “online” friends is not hard to do. For instance, I usually add Instagram users whom I have no ideas who they are. Just being simple you know since this is the virtual world so I can do anything as long as it is legal to make myself happier. Actually, I find getting more new online friends does work for me, adding each other and click “Heart” or give them some compliments on their posts sometimes so you guys will see that the “Like” rate would of you be increased soon. It sounds funny but that is also one of my online stuffs I normally do to make my page more popular. Thus, it depends on each person, if you want to be famous on social networks, you could try this tip otherwise I know some users are different who do not share too much thing on digital medias and tend to be more private. Likewise, one more thing I would like to tell via this blog is what I update on social medias and how I manage the viewers for my posts in the way I want. According to a research by Sidonie Smith & Julia Watson (2014), pointing out that “The sites and software of digital media provide occasions for young people to narrate moments in coming of age; for families to track and narrate their genealogical histories; for people seeking friends and lovers or those with similar hobbies to make connections;” so what I mean via this in-text reference is I also follow this concept, usually updating my stories (only can be existed for 24 hours), photos (or “selfies” which is a trendy word among the young nowadays) to share these great moments with my families and friends on digital medias especially on Instagram.

In point of fact, I also can see that users normally posting photos on social networks will help their accounts get more followers, comparing to those who rarely post anything or even no photos. Besides, another thing which I like on social network systems today is they have the privacy function to modify if users do not feel comfortable to share what they update on the internet. To be more obvious, users can choose who will see their posts, maybe it will be close friends or at least acquaintances to make sure that their photos or personal information would be not leaked in publics that is also the way I control and manage my own profile as well if I have something I don’t want to show to avoid online stalkers or getting imposters from someone.
